Getting a car serviced in a country town usually means losing it for a day, and losing whoever had to follow you in to drive you home. Rowdy's is built the other way round. The truck carries the tools, the diagnostic gear and the parts, so the work happens where the vehicle already is: your driveway, your shed, the paddock, or the yard your work utes sit in overnight.
It is one bloke and one truck, which is the point. The person who looks at your car is the person who books it in, does the job, and tells you afterwards what he found. Nothing gets handed down a line.

Fleet servicing
Work utes, farm vehicles and small fleets kept on the road. I come to the yard rather than you losing a vehicle, and a driver, for half a day.
Servicing all makes and models
Diesel 4WDs, family wagons, work utes, classics and the odd quad bike. Everyday Hiluxes and Subarus through to a V8 that only comes out on weekends.
Diagnostics and repair
Fault codes read and explained, then the actual problem found and fixed. You get told what is wrong in plain terms before anything gets replaced.
Brakes, timing and engine work
Discs, pads and calipers, timing chains, head work, injectors and cooling. The heavy jobs, done with name brand parts.
I come to you
No drop off, no courtesy car, no waiting room. The truck carries the tools and the parts, so the job happens in your driveway or your shed.
Not just the everyday stuff
The weekend car gets the same care as the work ute
Plenty of what comes through is a Hilux with 110,000 on it or a Subaru due for a service. Some of it is not. Engine rebuilds, classic V8s, a quad bike that has not run in years, and the caravan tow vehicle that picked up a fault code halfway to the Great Southern. If it has an engine, it is worth a phone call.

One mechanic, one truck, since 2017
Rowdy's Mechanical has been running out of York since February 2017. It is Jamie, a licensed motor vehicle repair business, licence MRB 7292, and a truck with enough on board to do a proper job at the side of a shed.
The reviews all say a version of the same thing, which is probably the best description available: turns up when he said he would, explains what he found, charges what he said he would charge. One customer drives three hours to get their vehicles looked at. Another has had three different cars serviced over several years.
